In a nest of dried grass and feathery moss sat an eggshell, itstop neatly lopped off. Caviar and crincle of gold lead shonejust inside the rim. Underneath were layers of custard andhairy cra, a seasonal freshwater treat from China whosetaste is a lot more seductive than its name. The rich, smoothpleasure in each spoonful almost made my head pop.
